Occupy Wall St.
Everyone knows the internet has changed the way people can connect and communicate and spread ideas. The idea for the Occupy Wall Street Protests were started by a Canadian based group called Adbusters media Foundation in the middle of 2011. Since officially starting in New York on September 17 of this year they have spread not only to other American cities but to other countries. They have no leader, no official organization, but with the use of the internet are getting their message out to people around the world.
On the 15 of October protests are planned in 718 cities in 71 different countries.

What is the best free music streaming application out today?
I can’t answer that, but I can tell you Spotify is my new favorite. I settled on Pandora, but unlike most people I knew I hated it. With Spotify you have access to over 15 million songs, you can connect with your friends on facebook and share songs/artists you like with then through facebook, or twitter.
Spotify is available on both macs and PCs and mobile devices. If you purchase a premium acount for $9.99/month you can download select playlist and have them available offline to listen, wherever, whenever.
Wunderlist

I will be the first one to admit that organization, is not my strong point. I’ve tried having from having day planners, wall calendars, lists of things I needed to do in sketchbooks, to regular calendar apps on computers. Nothing really helped for more than a week.
After getting my iphone I went app crazy trying to find something that was simple, easy to use and something that I wanted to keep using. That’s how I came across this little gem of an app call Wunderlist (and yes it was created in Germany).
Wunderlist is a web/mobile/desktop app that lets you organize your to-do lists. That’s it. Simple.

You can have a simple list of tasks you need to complete, or you can use it to create separate lists of things you need to do underneath a topic/task. Deadlines can be set for each task/topic or no deadline at all, and when you complete an item you simply check it off and you’re done.
If having access to the program on your desktop, the web and your smartphone/tablet isn’t enough you can also create lists from your email, from the address they provide.
Need someone else to view the list that doesn’t have Wunderlist? Problem also solved. Simply click the cloud icon and your list will be uploaded to the cloud and you will be given a private link that can be shared with anyone.
Out of all the organization to-do list apps this is my favorite, and I’m not alone. Wunderlist has been nominated as one of the best web apps of the year by Net magazine.
Oh yeah, it’s FREE!
Remote Mouse
A year ago around this time I purchased a new imac after my five year old macbook decided to take a nice dive off of my desk. Having a desktop for the first time in over five years was nice, and still is. However having both a wireless keyboard and mouse is not so great. The keyboards battery life is fine the problem is with the mouse. Even with the auto turn off feature two double A batteries last maybe a month if you’re lucky. This is not a problem until it’s the middle of the night and and you’re out of batteries and you need to print a paper due in the morning.
Browsing Apples App store I came across the Remote Mouse app, and decided to check it out. Remote Mouse is an app where you can connect your ipod touch, iphone or ipad to your Mac or PC computer to act as a wireless keyboard/touch pad.
This app is useful for emergency use until you can purchase batteries or until your rechargeable batteries are ready. You wouldn’t want this to be your only option but if you need to control your computer in the meantime or giving a presentation from across the room.
In order to use Remote Mouse you must download the app for both your mobile device and the computer you wish to use it with. The computer app is free and the mobile app comes in a basic free version in which you have a vertical touch pad and keyboard areas and a horizontal touch pad only. The paid version ($1.99) gives you a horizontal keyboard option.
The app is really easy to set up, even for a novice computer user and works over either a wifi connection or your service providers 3G connection.
